E-Learning Course Description: Optimism for Adults

Optimism for Adults

“Be careful what you water your dreams with. Water them with worry and fear and you will create worry and fear. Water them with optimism and solutions and you will create success. Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success. Always be on the lookout for ways to make your dream better.”

Flow in Sports is pleased to offer a free introductory optimism e-learning course for adults to help improve your mental game and outlook on life. The course is designed to help you rebound back quicker after a setback and help you interpret what happens to you in a more optimistic way. Optimism is a tendency to expect the best possible outcome or think of the most hopeful aspects of a situation, that is, to look at the glass as half-full rather than half empty. This is just the beginning. To think in a more optimistic way is gaining momentum recently and has many benefits such as superior health, greater achievement, improved emotional health, less stress, and much more.

This course introduces the concept of optimism through three dimensions:

Time—The length of time that you believe a positive or negative event will last.
Personalization—Assigning responsibility to positive or negative events that you experience.
Pervasiveness—The number of areas in your life that are affected by the occurrence of an event.

The dimensions are explained in detail and explored in many examples of real-life situations.

You may also take a quiz to determine your level of optimism and monitor your progress as you continue to learn.
